Summer Naturalist Hikes

Guided Naturalist Hikes -
Every Tuesday & Saturday through the summer. June 19 thru August 21
Hikes are free and take place at Purgatory Ski Area (Durango Mountain Resort).
Topics that will be covered include San Juan Mountain ecosystems, geology, plants, wildlife, fire ecology, and public lands. Contact Gabi Morey 385-1256


Walk, Lunch & Wine with a Llama - June 27, July 25 and August 15, 2010
Join Lois the Llama Lady and an SJMA naturalist for an incredible day on the mountain. Ride the chairlift at DMR and meet Lois at the top with her llama, who will be carrying your wine, cheese, crackers and lunches. During your hike an SJMA volunteer naturalist will talk about the wildflowers, geology, wildlife and trees of the area. Hike is a moderately easy 5 miles roundtrip.
