MK Thompson has been working as the education assistant for SJMA since 2009.  She joined the SJMA staff after the amazing training and experience she received teaching outdoor education and leading hikes at the YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park.  She is also a graduate of Fort Lewis College.  Since joining up with SJMA, she has contributed to many new programs including partnerships with the Adaptive Sports Association and Boys and Girls Club.

MK is a long-time Colorado resident but is originally from upstate NY near the Adirondacks.  She has always loved being out in nature.  When not working for SJMA or at her two other jobs, she enjoys a variety of outdoor activities.  These include (but are not limited to) backpacking, trail running, rock climbing, skiing and just plain wandering around in the woods.  She is frequently accompanied by her boyfriend, Drew, and their border collie, Scot.
