Elizabeth Reid is a second generation native of Durango. Her grandparents
homesteaded on the Florida Mesa where she grew up. (The scene in Butch
Cassidy and the Sundance Kid where they blew up the train was filmed just
behind her house. She still has some of the fake money and a crush on
Robert Redford) After graduation from Durango High School, she moved to
Albuquerque, NM where she attended UNM for two years before returning to
Fort Lewis College where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary
Education. Her husband of 25 years is a District Wildlife Manager for the
Colorado Division of Wildlife and she has also worked for the Division
during hunting season for the past 10 years. She has two children; Travis
is a Junior at Northern Arizona University and Brandon is a Freshman at
Fort Lewis. She will be working for the SJMA at the Pagosa Ranger District
on a job-sharing basis with the Division of Wildlife during the hunting
season.
